A lifesaver's plea for life-saving prayer.

August 3- Fern is getting to know a college student that is 12 weeks pregnant.  She does not want to have an abortion, but fears talking to her parents about it. The biological father wants her to deal with it.  She made an appointment for Thursday to get an abortion and while she feels terrible about it, she also feels like she has no choice.  The people involved in counseling her have been great godly influences, but she confirmed a few hours ago that she'll go forward on Thursday.  We acknowledge God is in control and pray that she is touched by His hand and her heart is changed!

August 10- (Missed abortion appointment).  She now has the money, but had some good conversations with Fern.  She says she may have to do it to spare her family shame.  She is very stressed and torn.  The next couple of days will be critical.  Thanks for your continued prayers.

August 12-The good news is that she has not had the abortion and has asked about finding a doctor.  She has no real money and no insurance.  Please continue to pray for God's work in this and for her to chose to save her baby.

August 13- It's been an up and down couple of days.  She now has an abortion scheduled for Monday.  She has been wondering why things keep coming up that get in the way of her keeping the appointment, but seems resolved that she has to go through with it.  Please keep her covered in prayer.

August 17- (Missed second appointment!) Our young lady had to cancel her appointment this week because she is traveling out West tomorrow and was told that medically, she wouldn't be able for travel after the two day (2nd trimester) abortion procedure.  God is working in her life.  Your commitment to praying is a great encouragement to everyone.

August 24- Our young friend called in from out West to ask what were some "safe" things to do while pregnant (good question!).  She also said she might be interested in getting another ultrasound to find out the gender of the baby.  We're really encouraged by these questions and praise God for His work here.  Again, keep her in prayer.

September 1- So, it's been another rocky period of time.  The young woman has an abortion scheduled for tomorrow! While it appears she has been getting attached to her baby, she found out today that her parents are planning a trip from Asia.  She had thought that she may be able to "save face" by not telling them about the pregnancy, having the baby and then placing the baby up for adoption.  Now she thinks that won't work and she'll need to abort. Please lift her up in prayer to have the courage to choose life!

September 15- (Missed third appointment) The situation with the young lady is (believe it or not) still going on and she is certainly now feeling the intensity of this important decision bearing down on her.  Yesterday we found that she is very stressed and, again, feeling like she has no choice, but to go ahead and get the abortion.  We are very concerned that she has made up her mind to do that.  Please continue to lift her up in prayer today and over the next few days.

September 20- Please pray today.  She is scheduled to have an ultrasound today (big thing!) and truly wants to go.  In a message from her last night she is hopeful the baby is doing well, but can't see keeping him/her with her parents coming in November.

September 22- She did go in for her ultrasound today with Fern.  She saw her baby moving and made the realization that she wants to carry her baby.  Now that she's made the decision, please keep praying against attack by the enemy.  We are overwhelmed by seeing God's hand move in this situation and are so very thankful for the prayers lifted up by each one of you.  God is good!!

Nov 11- We took her out for a little maternity shopping, a nice meal and lots of discussion about God's amazing hand in all of our lives.  On our way back into Boston, she told us she would like to be a Christian and asked us to tell her more about that.  It was exciting to explain the gift of salvation to her and then to pray with her that God would continue to draw her close to Himself.  Please pray for her salvation and for those of us who may get the opportunity to disciple her.

Jan 25-  I ask for your prayers here in the final weeks before her daughter is born.  Emotionally and spiritually she has had excellent support on a daily basis from Fern and Elaine.  She has a Japanese/English Bible that she reads and is praying everyday.

Feb 9- Praise the Lord, Arisa gave birth early this morning to a beautiful healthy baby girl at 6 lb 3 oz.  Her mother flew in from Japan yesterday and arrived just in time to be with Arisa and her sister.  She has made the decision to keep her baby and start life with her as a single mom.  Please pray that God would continue to draw Arisa and her family closer to Himself and that God would use this young life to bring others to eternal life with Him.

Feb 22- We're rejoicing with the angels in heaven as Arisa has invited Jesus into her heart tonight.  She is facing a number of new struggles and decisions as a young mother, so please keep her in prayer.  You all have been a part of this amazing journey over these last 8 months and we are so thankful for your prayers and encouragement.
