In this course the nurse/attendee will learn about the present state of providing medical care for unwelcomed pregnancies primarily as seen in pregnancy help centers, examine ways to improve communication and connection with the medical community and work toward a better model for caring for these clients. We will examine the following:

  1. The current model for prenatal care among the underserved and assess its effectiveness
  2. Steps necessary for integrating care from the pregnancy center to medical practice
  3. Societal benefit of an integrated community approach to care for a patient with an unwelcomed pregnancy.

This course offers contact hour credit for nurses. Participants who watch the presentation, receive at least a 70% on the final quiz, and complete the evaluation form will recieve 1.25 contact hour credit.


  1. Identify and define the present state of providing medical care for unwelcomed preganancies.
  2. Identify and define the steps necessary for integrating care from CPC to medical practice.
  3. Define the societal benefit of an integrated community approach to care for a patient with an unwelcomed preganancy.

Dr. John Bruchalski, MD has a passion for his family and the renewal, restoration, and renaissance of health care. Having founded the Tepeyac Family Center out of his basement in Northern Virginia in 1994 with his wife Carolyn, he is now the Chairman of Divine Mercy Care, a non-profit, faith based, values driven health care organization that believes medicine is an act of mercy by uniting social justice with the Scriptures, returning Christ to the center of the medical relationship.

Since his graduation from medical school at the South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, AL in 1986 and his residency at the Eastern Virginia College of Medicine in Norfolk, home of the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in 1991, Dr. John has delivered several thousand babies and care for thousands more women of all social strata and is Board certified in Ob/GYN since 1993. His medical interests include serving mothers in crisis pregnancies and caring for women with high risk pregnancies, polycystic ovaries, cycle problems, PMS, hypothyroidism, stress, and fertility awareness. He has spoken about the renewal of health care, perinatal hospice, and the intersection between faith and reason - medicine and morality both nationally and internationally. He sits on the Board of the Lejeune Foundation, Couple to Couple League, Family of the America's, and several other health care organizations. Between Winter 2011- and Spring of 2012, he spoke at 25 medical schools and universities on the importance of conscience in the practice of medicine and the impact conscience has in living life to the full.

Refund Policy

1. Refunds for non-attendance will only be awarded if non-attendance is the direct result of an unplanned or unannounced outage. When a registrant is unable to access a webinar/course due to an unplanned or unannounced server outage of Heartbeat International Academy, the website, or website, Heartbeat International will contact the registrant to notify them of the refund due them and issue the refund. Refund will be made to the registrant within 1 week of the cancelled event subject to processing fees.

2. When a course/webinar is cancelled for which individuals have registered, Heartbeat International will send a notification to each registrant per email or phone. Full refund will be sent to registrant within one week of cancellation.
