Expanding marijuana legalization is increasing the prevalence and perceived safety of use during pregnancy. Attendees will learn basic marijuana drug facts and how marijuana affects a pregnant woman and her baby. Using research from pregnant women who report using marijuana, attendees will learn common misconceptions and reasons women choose to use marijuana in their pregnancy to help the nurse explore the risk of perinatal injury and encourage abstinence.
This training offers 1.0 contact hours for nurses who meet all requirements. Heartbeat International is an approved provider through the California Board of Nursing, Provider Number 16061.
