This workshop will provide the history of the Safe Haven Laws in the United States, as well as the introduction of the Safe Haven Baby Box as a legal form of surrender, providing complete anonymity for women in crisis. Attendees will understand the depth of the problem of infant abandonment in the US and beyond, and the success of the use of Safe Haven Baby Boxes in educating and providing options for parents in crisis. Since 2017 Safe Haven Baby Boxes has helped over 150 parents in crisis, legally surrender in hospitals and fire stations. We have also had 36 infants surrendered in our baby boxes since 2018.
